goodbyes

Life are full of goodbyes (and it sucks sometimes). My bestfriend already left Singapore last Sunday. She will be going to the Philippines first and then she'll be heading NJ. Friday, I was invited to her going away party given by her bosses and it was held at Balmor. Then last Saturday, we ate at Chinatown foodstreet again because we really love the Thai restaurant there. 

I'm happy for my friend because she'll be with her husband at last. But ofcourse me and my housemates are sad because we'll miss her. When we took her to the airport and went back home, opening the door gave us a different feeling. But soon, we'll be used again... until someone will say their goodbyes again. Goodbyes sometimes really sucks. Especially when you'll be witnessing a lot of goodbyes. Well, that's life!

Anyways, she's already in the Philippines. I am planning to go home too this weekend because we have a long vacation. But I'm not yet sure since I need an approval first from my boss... and the exit pass from the embassy. My friend Bas and me went there yesterday and unfortunately we need one more requirement. 

So it's monday again. it's gloomy outside... makes me lazy to go to work. but my boss will be fetching me in a while...

When I went for a check up yesterday, a girl asked me when father's day is. I think she's indonesian. I think it's weird cause I don't usually ask strangers questions like that. I'm expecting something like directions...  

I called my dad in the Philippines and greeted him.

We also went to Sunday mass. I greeted the Ultimate Father as well.

three-twelve oh-eight

March seems to be a special month. My long lost friend (who I've found in a way) celebrated his birthday yesterday. I remember greeting him for the first time which led to a "long lasting" friendship. haha.. I remember giving him a chain bracelet the next year from that. That is March 11... I remember his birthday since then... I greeted him this year (on his cellphone) but I'm not sure if it still works, and also on his ym. =)

Then today is my ultimate crush's birthday. I remember the years I've been greeting him. I never fail to miss it! My sister and my bestfriend Anna made it like it's a holiday. I remember the three of us greeting him at the same time thru text. Then he would reply "thank you" and we would save that message for a long time. That was then (since all of us were crushing on him and saying he's our "ultimate" crush. haha! When Anna had a baby last year, we were hoping that she'd gave birth on the 12th when the doctor said her due is March. Surprisingly, Johann (her baby) was born March 12. It seems he heard his "makulit"(annoying) godmothers asking him to go out on the 12th while he's still inside his mom's tummy! hah

Yesterday, I was already thinking of greeting my ultimate crush (btw, he's the one who kissed me in the forehead during the start of the year). It was like a big plan... a big day. I slept late last night and thought of texting him already. I took a bit of effort - I edited my message about three times. I made my message short and simple and even chose carefully which smiley icon will I use. Before I sleep I wish he'd reply. I thought to myself, if I matter to him, he'd reply no matter country code I use. (Cause sometimes, some don't reply since texting overseas since it's expensive).

The nicest thing about wishes is when they really come true. I woke up and checked my phone. He replied early in the morning (6am)! With all of my efforts, and thoughts about the birthday greeting,  his only reply is "Tnx!" O come on, he can do better than that. hehehe.. anyways, I said my greetings with effort... and it's MY thoughts that count right? hehehe At least he did reply, that matters... and I never wished a LONG reply right. hehehehe...

I found my favorite spot here in Singapore and it's found at the Chinese Garden. It's like from those movies where they have a favorite secret place. Well, it's not a secret but just in case you've not been to Singapore yet, maybe you can visit this place too and say you're thank you prayers! =D This is really a good place to go when you want to be with yourself or meditate.  I plan to read a good book, listen to my favorite songs, or have some pancakes and grass jelly tea here.

getting ready

One week to go, I will  be leaving my home. The feeling of leaving is really sad, but thinking about the new experiences and giving chance for my dreams to come true makes me feel excited. I am savoring the people, places and things I will miss most. Every thing I do right now, I find something I'll be missing about. The live songs I will not be hearing for a long time, those food I will long for, the celebrations I won't be experiencing. I am taking pictures more often. When me and my friends laugh really hard, I pray that moment would just stop, or would never end. I will miss those people special to me more than anything else. But again, I am happy that soon we'll be seeing again. All I pray is that we'll have a safe and healthy year inspite the distance. Distance wouldn't be a hindrance but will be an inspiration... to do good for my family. Besides, I will be only 3 hours plane ride away from home.

So while doing everything I need - from having a facial, shopping, going to the dentist... etc, I can see most of the people around me planning for more serious and advance matters. My bestfriend's planning to get married on April 2008 but they plan to have the church wedding on December. I will be the maid of honor. Another bestfriend of mine would be married by December 2009 and another friend will be married on the same year. For both, I bet I will be the bridesmaid. Well, just like the movie 27 Dresses, I'm always the bridesmaid. It's not that I'm complaining! hahaha

By the way, I will already have an interview on Feb 6 so wish me luck! =)

The start of my year is a bit strange.

I finally had the chance to talk to my long lost friend. After many years! I was really happy. And he said we can meet in Singapore soon! It will be cool right? If it could really happen, I will be very happy. But I guess I have finally learned not to expect to much. It is easier this time. It's cute to think about it. But that should be it. =)

Then, I met someone really interesting on the internet. He finally messaged me and thank me for bringing him to that coffee shop. Maybe he enjoyed it, and that's nice. For now, let's see. It's cool to have new friends! 

Last weekend, my sister and I went to Manila for my check up and to meet some of my friends. It was really tiring, but at least we got to see our best friend Anna during the evening. We went to our favorite place Max Brenner for some chocolate indulgence and catching up. Then after which, we went to my friend GJ’s birthday celebration at the 56th bar at Visayas Avenue. “My boys” were there! – the ones who took care of me and my Saturday night outs when I was still in Manila! I will miss them for sure! But I didn’t missed the chance to tell some of them how I missed them and my days with them. Gj was feeling depressed that night. I can't really comfort him like he did when I was really sad and heartbroken long time ago. I know some people can give him that. Maybe his bestest friends, or the boys. I don't know their story. But it was a bit different because he gave some details to me. He doesn't do that normally. (I guess he's really drunk!haha)  But time will heal the pain. We know that. So we're just there to let him know - we're there for him.

Then before we all left the place,  my "ultimate crush of all time (haha)" gave me a “new year’s kiss on the forehead”!  But I will just not talk about it! ;-) It was "kilig" though. Anyways, How could all of that come about for only a span of two weeks?! ;-) But in any case, I need to fix some MORE things and meet some MORE people before I leave.

Christmas season probably is one of my favorite time of the year. Every year, some of my friends abroad and from manila would go back here in Baguio to celebrate it here. This year, we had our annual Grill Party again at our house and it was pretty good. I think I didn't enjoyed it much because most of the people I expected to see were not there. It actually ended early (3am) - unusual unlike the other past Grill Parties. But at least I got to see most of my friends I haven't seen for a long time. I think what makes it memorable for now besides me not being drunk and the amazing fireworks of a hotel near us - is that I didn't have so much fun.. I mean, like the ones we had during the past years... and yeah... not seeing those I want to see. That's sad, really.

I need to be reminded that some things just happens once in a lifetime. So we need to grab that once in a lifetime opportunity. That's why we regret some things. It's really sad when that chance comes but you became scared you didn't do it. Then that courage of yours only comes after, but you'll realize it's useless because your chance has flown away. So sad.

Last year, I've had all my time figuring out what I want to do for the coming years. Besides good health and safety of our family, I also wish that this year would be another happy year for me - with my career and personal life. Let's go!!! wooohoo! I can't count how many people wished for me to have a boyfriend already! haha! But I bet this would be an exciting year! =D

QotD: Rituals For A New Year

What are your rituals or traditions for starting off a new year?  

I can't count how many traditions in the Philippines. But there's this one ritual me and my sister and my bestfriend Anna do. We've been doing this for I think a couple of new years, and we always remind each other to do it (it doesn't fail). We wear polka dots underwears during new year! This year, instead of going polka dots, I wore my shirt with hearts in it. Maybe it would mean love all this year! hehehe.. I hope we all do. Happy new year everyone!
